EB-1: a green card for those who stand out in their field

The EB-1 is the highest-priority category among employment-based green cards. It exists for people who are already recognized for what they do — here or in Brazil — and want to turn that recognition into residence in the United States. Three profiles qualify: professionals recognized as references in what they do; outstanding professors and researchers; and executives and managers transferred by a multinational company.

What the law asks as evidence

What counts is not the size of the résumé. It is the evidence of recognition: awards, publications, press coverage, invitations to judge the work of others, above-average remuneration, projects of relevance. Gathering and organizing that evidence is the technical part of the work — strong evidence presented out of context is worth less than it seems.

Why strong cases get denied

Because the EB-1 does not judge your career. It judges whether what was presented meets the category’s criteria. The most common causes: evidence with no line of argument, a category chosen without a fit analysis, generic evidence, and a story told to impress instead of demonstrating criteria. None of that is a lack of merit. They are assembly errors.

How Status builds the strategy for this case

Free evaluation with our team, in-depth legal analysis with the attorney, strategy in writing — with the recommended paths, the discarded ones and the reason — and handling with visibility through to the decision. If the honest answer is that it is not yet time to file, you hear that along with the plan to get there.

What this category is not: high priority does not mean guaranteed approval, a short timeline, or that a long résumé solves it alone. The competition is over the quality of the evidence.
