Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 14, 2026 — version 1.2

1. Who we are

Status Immigration Law Firm PLLC, 1500 K Street NW, 2nd Floor, Washington, DC 20005, United States. Contact: status@statusimmigrationlaw.com.

2. Data we collect.

What you submit through the evaluation/contact form or the website chat: full name, email, phone (including WhatsApp), country/state, preferred language, topic, whether you have a hearing or deadline in the next 30 days, the questions you select in the chat, preferred channel, and your message. The chat also records your device's time zone and the page where it was opened, and keeps your answers even if you leave without scheduling, for up to 90 days.

3. How we use it

To respond to your inquiry, conduct the free evaluation, schedule consultations, and provide the agreed services. We do not use your data for third-party campaigns.

4. SMS and WhatsApp

If you separately opt in to SMS, we may send responses about the inquiry you initiated, appointment scheduling, confirmations and reminders, and non-sensitive customer care notices related to your request. Message frequency varies based on your inquiry and appointments. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. The SMS checkbox is optional and not pre-checked. See our SMS Terms. WhatsApp messages are sent only when separately authorized.

5. Providers

We use service providers for communications and operations, such as Twilio (SMS), Meta (WhatsApp), and CRM/scheduling tools.

6. Cookies and analytics

This site uses no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics tool is active today. Your browser stores two things: your choice in the cookie banner, and a temporary draft of the consultation form so you do not lose what you typed if the page reloads — the draft is erased when you finish. If an analytics tool is ever added, this policy is updated before it starts collecting, and it will never receive names, emails, phone numbers or form messages.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers or SMS/WhatsApp opt-in data and consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose this information to service providers that help us deliver communications, only as necessary to provide those services, or when required by law.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

8. Retention and security

Data is retained while the inquiry or engagement is active and as required by law, under access controls. Answers given in the website chat are kept for up to 90 days, and backup copies for up to 30 days after that.

9. Your rights

Send access, correction and deletion requests to status@statusimmigrationlaw.com. For the SMS program, reply STOP to stop text messages or HELP for assistance. Stopping SMS does not cancel an appointment or close a legal matter; contact us separately for those requests.

Visitors in Brazil (LGPD).

If you are in Brazil, Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018) also applies. Controller: the entity identified in section 1 (contact: status@statusimmigrationlaw.com). Purpose and legal basis: we use the data you submit to answer your request and to schedule and hold the free first conversation, steps taken at your request before any contract (art. 7, V). Your data is processed in the United States, where our team and our service providers operate; this transfer is necessary for the steps you requested (art. 33, IX). Retention: as described in section 8. Your rights (art. 18): confirmation that we process your data, access, correction, anonymization, blocking, or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data, portability, and information about the entities we share data with. Send requests to status@statusimmigrationlaw.com.
